The Junior School would like to congratulate the 6th class Gaelic football team on their wonderful performance in the Cumann na mBunscol competition this year.
After winning all of their initial group games, the girls proceeded to the quarter final v Gaelscoil Inchicore. After a tough battle, they succeeded in securing themselves a semi-final place this Wednesday v St. Laurence’s, Balydoyle.
The semi-final took place in Fairview Park and we knew that the opposition were going to be formidable.
After going two goals down at the beginning, the girls managed to claw their way back to bring the score line back to a draw-game at half time. We took the lead at the start of the first half but when the final whistle blew, the girls were heartbroken to have been defeated by a single point.
Miss. Timmins could not be prouder of her team’s performance. The girls played with such determination, confidence and skill. They gave 100% on the day and she could not have asked for more from them. It was an amazing achievement to have made it so far.
