The school welcomes and values parents/guardians as partners in education and encourages meaningful and appropriate involvement in the life of the school. Our methods of communicating with our families are many and varied, depending on the circumstance. To this end our school:
- Holds meetings for the parents of Junior Infant children prior to the children’s entry to school.
- Facilitates formal parent/teacher meetings for all classes.
- Sends a written report to all parents at the end of the school year to update on progress and development.
- May forward a written note in the school journal.
- Has a text messaging service.
- Regularly updates the school website.
- Has provided a parent notice board at the school entrance, which displays news and information for parents.
- Distributes regular school newsletters.
- Will occasionally forward important information by letter.
- May organise meetings to discuss important or sensitive issues.
