RCSI Trainee doctors visit
Junior, Senior & 1st Class
Friday, January 20, 2017 - 12:00 - 13:00

We had a visit from two trainee doctors from Royal College of Surgeons.
They told us how to keep healthy by eating lots of fruit and vegetables and drinking lots of water. It is important to do a little bit of exercise every day too. We need at least eight hours of sleep to stay healthy.
The doctors showed us how to feel our pulse. You put two fingers over your wrist and press lightly.Your pulse is your blood flowing through your body. Some of us had a go at using their stethoscope to hear a heart beat it was really cool.
We also learnt all about reflexes- One we do all the time without think is????? BLINKING!!!
They use a small reflex hammer to strike under their knee to see their knee reflex.
We were all invited to the Teddy Bear Hospital in RCSI, to learn about what goes on in a hospital, who works there and what Teddy Doctors can do to help sick Teddy feel better. It is on February 4th and we can bring our favourite teddies too.
