NCH-Music in the Classroom
1st, 4th & 5th Class
Tuesday, February 6, 2018 - 10:25 - 12:25

On Tuesday, students from 1st, 4th and 5th class headed off to the National Concert Hall to partake in the Music in the Classroom performance. Under the baton of conductor Duncan Ward and the talented RTÉ Symphony Orchestra, the girls were introduced to the talents of the musicians and a variety of musical styles. The concert was narrated by Tom Redmond who entertained us with stories about many of the featured composers. It was fun to find out that the French horn was actually the real inspiration for Princess Leia’s hair. The fun explanation of the story of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture brought some history to life. We were delighted when our turn came to join in with the fantastic rendition of Believe by Lin Marsh. All the practicing paid off.
