Beep Beep Day

Beep Beep Day
Learning all about the Safe Cross Code
Friday, May 8, 2015 - 09:54

On Thursday 7th May the whole school took part in Beep Beep Day in conjunction with the Road Safety Authority and An Garda Siochana.

Each girl was given a high-vis waistcoat and buddied up with a partner.  We then all left the school together and walked across 4 sets of traffic lights.  We had the help of four Garda who stopped the traffic for us and made sure we got across the road safely.  They taught us all about road safety and how we are not supposed to run across the road but to wait at the lights.

When we returned to school each class took turns to sit in the Garda car and look at the motorbikes and mountain bikes.  We even got to turn on the blue lights and sirens!  It was great fun.

Thank you to Orlaith from the RSA and our community Garda, Wayne for all their help.
